Sales Development Representative (SDR) - Remote

UK
Full-time
Permanent employee

Job description

Shoreline Wind is hiring a Sales Development Representative to start the conversations that become our customers. You will find the right people at our target accounts, earn the first meeting, and hand a well-qualified opportunity to an Account Director.

The role

This is a prospecting and qualification role. You own the start of the sales cycle: turning a list of target accounts and incoming leads into qualified meetings with the people who buy, champion and use our platform.

You will work with a defined set of target accounts across developers, owners, operators and service providers in the wind industry. Your goal is a qualified meeting: held with a buyer-role contact, with the problem to solve and the reason the account fits recorded in HubSpot. Prospecting ends when that meeting is booked. From there you qualify the opportunity and hand it to the Account Director who owns the account and the deal.

What you will do

  • Prospect: Research target accounts across developers, owners, operators and service providers, and map the buying committee at each. Run outbound (email, LinkedIn, calls, events) alongside follow-up on inbound leads from Marketing.
  • Respond quickly: Follow up fast on demo requests, hot leads and engaged contacts so interest turns into a conversation.
  • Book meetings: Get qualified meetings in the diary with buyer-role contacts at our target accounts.
  • Qualify: Run the first conversation to understand the customer's problem, budget, timeline and decision process.
  • Hand over: Create the opportunity in HubSpot and pass it, with full context, to the Account Director who owns the account.

How you'll work

  • Keep HubSpot accurate and current: accounts, contacts, buying committees, every touch and next steps.
  • Use our AI tools and agents to support the process.
  • Work with Marketing on campaigns and events, and give fast feedback on lead quality.
  • Work with the Account Directors for clean handovers, and share what you learn about competitors, objections and buyers.

Who you are

  • Experience in a B2B SaaS sales development, business development or similar outbound role, with a record of booking qualified meetings with senior buyers. Strong candidates from other outbound-led roles are welcome.
  • Strong outbound habits: you generate conversations rather than wait for leads, and you stay persistent across email, LinkedIn and phone without sending generic mass messages.
  • Comfort researching accounts and people, and writing short, specific, relevant messages that a senior engineer or executive would read.
  • Confidence on a first discovery call: asking good questions, listening, and judging whether there is a real problem, budget and timeline.
  • Curiosity about the product and the industry: a fast learner who can explain what the platform does, the jobs our customers need done and the challenges facing wind energy, and who talks credibly with engineers as well as executives.
  • Disciplined use of a CRM (we use HubSpot) to keep contact and pipeline data accurate.
  • A positive attitude towards AI tools, and the judgement to review and improve what they produce.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with clear, concise communication that suits a small team.
  • Self-direction and resilience in a scale-up company where processes continuously evolve.

Nice to have

Experience in wind, renewables, energy, maritime or another asset-heavy industry; selling simulation, planning, optimisation, analytics or AI-based software; and working with HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar prospecting tools. Additional languages (for example Japanese, German or a Nordic language) are a plus, as we sell into several regions.

What we offer

  • A direct role in the growth of a scale-up company in a fast-moving, mission-led industry.
  • The chance to work where three growth markets meet: SaaS, the green energy transition and AI.
  • A clear path to grow into an Account Executive role as you prove yourself.
  • Close access to leadership, and real influence on how we sell.
  • Remote working with an international team.
  • Modern, AI-supported sales tooling that does the research and drafting so you can focus on conversations.
  • Compensation: competitive package, equity, and pension.
  • Holiday entitlement in line with the country of employment.
